Nous sommes en 1989 : Michael Eidson, passionné de bicyclette, participe au “Hotter’N Hell 100”. Et c’est exactement ce que c’est : une course sur route de 100 milles dans la chaleur exténuante de Wichita Falls, au Texas. L’eau est essentielle pour survivre à la course, et il y a peu d’endroits pour remplir une bouteille d’eau. Eidson, technicien médical d’urgence, décide alors de remplir une poche de perfusion avec de l’eau et de la glisser dans une chaussette. Puis il fourre le bidule dans le dos de son maillot de vélo, jette le mince tuyau sur son épaule et le serre avec une pince à linge. L’hydratation mains-libres est née ! Eidson est capable de boire pendant qu’il pédale... tandis que les autres coureurs rient et tripotent leurs bouteilles d’eau. Les valeurs fondamentales de la marque restent les mêmes aujourd’hui : avec authenticité, ses équipes ré inventent continuellement et changent la façon dont les personnes s’hydratent et performent.
